Due to her parents' promise at her birth, Lady Rosemarie has been prepared to become a nun on the day she turns eighteen. Then, a month before her birthday, a friend of her father's enters the kingdom and proclaims her parents' will left a second choice. If Rosemarie can marry before the eve of her eighteenth year, she will be exempt from the ancient vow.
Before long, Rosemarie is presented with the three most handsome and brave knights in the land. But when the competition for her heart seemingly results in a knight playing foul, she begins to wonder if the cloister is the best place after all. If only one of the knights the one who appears the most guilty had not already captured her heart.

(I received a copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.)
“Courage can be displayed in many forms, my lord,' I said gently. 'Sometimes it's evident in the knight charging forward with the lance on his steed. But perhaps it can also take the form of a head bowed before the enemy.”
― Jody Hedlund, An Uncertain Choice
In "An Uncertain Choice", Rosemarie's parents have passed away years ago, she is the soul heir to the Ashby kingdom. She found out her parents promised to the church, on her eighteenth birthday she will become a nun for the church. She has prepared for this all her life, being isolated because she feels there is no point in becoming friends or having parties because she is just going to live that all behind.
Her fathers friend and someone she loves dearly came to visit. He tells her that there is a way out of the vow, that one way is to get married before midnight on her eighteenth birthday. She has loved one person in her life years ago, but the drifted their separate ways when she told him about her parents promise.
Fall in love and she only has a month to do it. Pst, is that even possible?
She thinks this is crazy but goes ahead and gives it a try anyway. She was presented with three noble and honest knights. Sir Collin, wealthy, funny, and outgoing, Sir Bennth, has a love for art, sweet, and romantic, and last but not least Sir Derrick, just a noble knight, no family, loves to help the poor. Sir Derrick tries his hardest to stay away from Rosemarie, because he deems himself unworthy of her attention and whats his friends to win.
The competition to win her heart begins to turn a little dirty. Some people get hurt, and the one she feels her heart belongs to seems to be a little guilty of some very dirty crimes. She thinks her best bet is to just go to the covenant and be a nun, she has prepared for this all her life. But she can't seem to bring herself to do it, she thinks if there is a way out she wants to take it.
Rosemarie is a sweet girl, she hates torture and she wants to help her people the best way she can. She loves everyone equally and she puts her people before herself. She doesn't care if there is a plague going around, she wants to be there to help. She feeds the poor children and goes out to spend time with her people when she can. She devotes her life to god.
I loved this book. Why you ask? Because the characters were all different and the plot was great. I really did think that one of the knights was really guilty of those crimes. It was a great read and if there is a second book coming out I want to read that too!!
