The Norns think they’ve won,
but it’s hard to control a teenager,
let alone a powerful one…

Raine Cooper’s life should be perfect. She’s an Immortal Seeress, most likely to be elected Prom Queen, and envied by the girls at Kayville High for dating the dreamy quarterback, Torin St. James. Instead, she’s haunted by the smug facial expressions the Norns’ wore during their last meeting.

As a Norn-In-Training, Raine crossed the line long ago when she sided with the Valkyries and Mortal Witches. When the Norns return with demands of their own, Raine feels trapped. Torin tries to convince her that the Norns are manipulating her, but she refuses to listen. At least until the Norns’ demands focus on someone she loves. When Raine refuses to cooperate with them, their punishment is swift and gut-wrenching, turning her pain into fury.

Raine plots revenge on a massive scale and makes deals with unsavory allies. Her goal? Total destruction of the entire Norn race. Raine’s only hope of salvation is Torin, but how much will he sacrifice to save her?

I have to admit Ednah Walters is probably one of my favorite YA fantasy book authors. The whole Rune series was amazing and I am really glad I found it. I, myself love anything that has to deal with mythology and the way Ednah wrote the Runes series really blew my mind. She did a great job with giving us a clear view or Norse mythology and everything about Valkyries and Grimnirs. It kind of reminds me a Twilight, which side are you on #TorinSirRoyalHighness or #EchosDrunkenLove hehe <3.

In this book Witches it picks up right after the Seeress and overlaps with Souls. In Souls we see everything is Cora's point up view which lead up all the way to the prom. Witches, we see Raine's point of view also all the way up to the prom. Raine is still learning how to become a powerful witch but the Norns both the good and bad just don't know how to leave her alone. But that doesn't stop her, she knows how to put the Norns in their place where they belong. But she has worries just like any other person who is in love. She is scared if she doesn't do what the Norns want she will lose Torin. Love conquers all right? She is slowly growing in power, learning how to control her visions and even use illusions so people she her as a different person. She isn't alone in her adventure, she has family and friends that will back her up all the way.

She doesn't want to turn out like the Norns, she wants to be her own person helping both Mortals and Immortals. Her first "case" as she calls it is Beau Hardshaw, the captain of the baseball team. He is, as you would call it a player. He changes girls like people change clothes. But he is smart, outgoing, cocky, and determined. She wants him to be able to get a scholarship for baseball, so she decides to take him under her care and help him gets to where he needs to be. Nothing is going to stop Raine from helping him not even Torin's sexy jealousy.

Raine is determine to do what she needs to do so she can help the people she loves and cares about. She plans on staying where she is at and she doesn't care who gets in her way, she will crush them all the same. The relationship between her and Torin grow and I find that cute and something that makes me cry. Their love for each other is infinite and it makes me happy to see a relationship like this grow in a book.
